April 4, 2014--soon to be Shabbat:)


How was everyone's spring break?  Mine was bittersweet.  My youngest son, Edward, moved to North Carolina to be a manager at a Jimmy John's in Asheville.  It was very pretty there but it is so far away:(  Our house is so quiet now.  I am proud that he had the courage to move there--he only knows the guy he lives with and will work for.


Sixth grade won't be having the traditional model Seder.  Last year, we made charoset from around the globe and sampled them.  We also read about how Passover is celebrated in different countries.  Students enjoyed it and they will be surprised at how different countries celebrate.  I will have recipes and would ask that parents/students make the charoset and bring it on Sunday, April 13th.  Are there any food allergies?  Please be sure to let me know.


This Sunday, we will continue to study about Israel.  We will be looking at historical events leading up to the formation of the state of Israel.
